In a resounding victory, Rt. Hon. Speaker Anita Among has been elected as the Chairperson of the Women’s League in Kapopong village, Kolir Sub County, Bukedea district. The election, which took place today, saw Speaker Among declared duly elected by the Kapopong village NRM returning officer, Mr. Asaja Augustine, shortly after 1 pm.
Speaker Among’s election was unopposed, demonstrating the strong support and confidence that NRM members in her village have in her leadership. The Local Council one and village party structures polls, which aimed to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures, were a testament to the Speaker Among’s popularity and dedication to the party.
Following her declaration, Speaker Anita Among wrote on her X handle to express her gratitude and excitement. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the NRM members of Apopong Village for trusting me to lead as the Chairperson of the Women’s League,” she wrote. “I am committed to giving my all to advance our party and ensure it grows in strength and ideology.”
