The Elgon Festival 2025 is set to be a spectacular event, showcasing the city’s unique cultural identity, promoting local economic development, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our tribes. The festival’s organizers, partners, and supporters have confirmed that preparations are complete, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Mr. Kutosi James, spokesperson of Mbale City, invites the public to attend the Elgon Festival, highlighting its potential to stimulate economic growth, create a market for local products, and attract visitors from different regions. The festival is expected to bring together people from various backgrounds, creating a high demand for local goods and services.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has partnered with the Elgon Festival to promote the conservation of natural resources while celebrating the rich cultural identity of the Bamasaaba people. Afande Emmanuel Eluka, a representative of UWA, promises a grand and unforgettable experience, featuring a guided hike at Mt. Elgon’s Bushiyi trek.
The festival will feature a diverse range of activities, including music, crafts, drama, hiking, and touring in Wanale and Bulambuli. Winnie Nasity, a member of Creative Market, highlights the benefits of the festival in promoting local culture, nurturing creative talent, and providing a platform for artisans to showcase their work.
Musosi Ibra, Manager of the Sironko branch of Creative Market, and MC Izaak, a renowned figure in the city, express their support for the festival, emphasizing its importance in promoting local arts and culture. MC Izaak cites the festival’s success in providing a platform for talented individuals to showcase their skills, highlighting the example of Titus Vibes’ record-breaking concert.
Mr. Situma Joseph, founder of Creative Market, confirms that preparations for the Elgon Festival are complete, promising a record-breaking edition. The festival will feature a unique format, with three distinct nights celebrating different cultures:
1. Bamasaaba Night:
Showcasing the rich culture, food, and designs of the Bamasaaba people.
2. International Night:
Featuring performances from artists from different regions.
3. National Night:
Highlighting the talents of Ugandan artists from Kampala and beyond.
Priscilla Kaniza, co-founder and organizer of the Elgon Festival, invites the public to attend this year’s event, promising a vibrant celebration of culture, music, crafts, and drama.
