Today’s evening, Resident City Commissioner Northern Division Mbale City Hon. Were Yahya addressed the media on youth involved in charitable activities, emphasizing the importance of using donations from Arab countries for their intended purposes.
He urged the youths to fulfill their rightful tasks and ensure that funds are utilized in a transparent and accountable manner, for example, construction of mosques, boreholes, and taking care of the needy people from different areas of Uganda for the good of the people hence receiving blessings
On the same note, he warned those who misuse donations that they shall face the full force of the law and serve their punishment being charged fraud and swindling donations
He added that the misuse of charity funds not only betrays the trust of donors but also tarnishes the image of our country, Uganda. He therefore stressed that it is our collective responsibility to safeguard the integrity of charitable activities and maintain the trust of our international partners for a brighter tomorrow.
He concluded by calling upon all fellow leaders right from LC1s to higher levels to join him in promoting responsible charity fund management. Together, we can make a positive impact and maintain the trust of our donors and international partners. He also used the same opportunity to appreciate H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the tremendous work of fighting corruption in Uganda and requested Ugandans to vote him come 2026 since he has done wonders in the Republic of Uganda
