The Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC-NRM), SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, this evening attended the prestigious 40 Years of Dr. Bbosa & Book Launch held at Hotel Africana.
The grand celebration was aimed at honouring the Fourty years career and life of Sam Bagenda, famously known as Dr. Bbosa—a prominent Ugandan actor, singer, and cultural icon.The momentous occasion was further honoured by the presence of the Minister for Kampala, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, who represented H.E President Yoweri Museveni as the Guest of Honour.
The event also attracted a host of high-profile guests and government officials joined the celebration, including Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala; Minister of Energy, Ruth Nankabirwa; and Prince David Wasajja. Also in attendance were senior representatives from the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), veteran singer Halimah Namakula, and respected religious leaders like Pastor Wilson Bugembe and Pastor Aloysius Bugingo alongside his wife, among other distinguished dignitaries.
All gathered to honour the enduring legacy of Rtn. Sam Bagenda, affectionately known as Dr. Bbosa.Speaking during the event, Hajjat Namyalo commended Dr. Bbosa for his resilience, dedication, and significant impact on Uganda’s creative industry, especially through his mentorship of youth in The Ebonies.
“Dr. Bbosa has mentored so many people, especially Bazzukulu—some even my relatives—who are leading very promising lives here and outside Uganda. As the Office of the National Chairman and as a proud Ugandan, we thank you for being a role model.
Thank you for lifting Uganda’s creative industry to greater heights,” Hajjat Namyalo said, as she purchased his newly launched book for $300 on behalf of ONC.“Today, I am deeply honoured to be part of the few people gathered here not just to celebrate a man, but a legend and an icon whose voice, presence, and talent have echoed across generations and touched the hearts of Ugandans.” Hajjat Namyalo said “Dr. Bbosa, for forty years, you have graced our stages, screens, and hearts.
Through your role in The Ebonies, you have not only entertained us but educated, inspired, and united Bazzukulu Ba Kaguta Museveni from all walks of life. And today, we applaud not just your stage legacy, but also your wisdom—captured beautifully in your newly launched book, Dr. Bbosa’s 5 Ps.” she added.According to Dr Bbosa, his book titled “Dr Bbosa’s 5 Ps” (Prayer, Persistence, Patience, Positivity and Passion), emphasizes these principles as his personal formula for living life to the fullest.
