Easter Message to the People of Uganda*
Greetings to all Ugandans, and especially my fellow members of the NRM fraternity.
As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the profound words in 1 Corinthians 15:20: ‘But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.’
This season is not just about celebration but also about renewal, hope, and gratitude for the divine grace upon our nation. Uganda is blessed with peace—a rare gift in a region where many of our neighbors struggle with instability.
Let us thank God for this and reflect on Psalm 29:11: ‘The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.’ We must cherish this peace, safeguard it, and work together to ensure it continues under the visionary leadership of our father of the nation, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni
As we approach future elections, let us pray for unity, wisdom, and peaceful processes. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us: ‘The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases.’We trust that God will guide our leaders and citizens toward a prosperous and harmonious Uganda.
In this season of reflection, let us also act responsibly. Celebrate with joy, but avoid reckless actions like drinking and driving. Protect yourselves and one another—because the future of Uganda depends on its people.
Wishing you all a blessed and safe Easter!
