Yesterday, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto, through her program ‘Food Security at Household’, distributed maize flour and maize seeds to over 800 Village Health Teams (VHTs) across Mbale City.
This initiative aims to support vulnerable families, especially during the fasting period of Ramadan, and to empower farmers to plant food as the rain season begins in the Elgon Region.
The distribution of maize flour is expected to alleviate hunger and food insecurity among the beneficiaries, while the maize seeds will enable farmers to plant and harvest food, promoting food security and self-sufficiency.
Several VHTs expressed their gratitude to Hon. Wanyoto, pledging their support for her candidacy as Woman Member of Parliament for Mbale City.
