Mafabi Asha Nabulo Calls for Improved Infrastructure in Sironko to Boost Agriculture and Development”
Sironko is known as the food basket for the Bamasaaba people, the nation, and East Africa. It produces a variety of crops including coffee, bananas, tomatoes, onions, and cabbage.
Despite its vital role in food production, the state of the roads in Sironko is very poor, causing delays in the transportation of goods to market.
Mafabi Asha Nabulo, the NRM Sironko woman flag bearer and Chief Executive Officer of the Mafabi Asha Foundation, is dedicated to improving the lives of the people in Sironko through her foundation but the road infrastructure.
She has called on the government to address the transportation challenges faced by sironko and the region.
Mafabi Asha Nabulo noted that due to poor road infrastructure, goods such as cabbage, onions, tomatoes, and bananas often rot on the way to market, resulting in significant losses for business people.
While she appreciates the government’s launch of the Namagumba-Budadiri-Nalugugu road construction, she emphasized the need for improvements on other feeder roads to facilitate easier transportation.
Additionally, Mafabi Asha Nabulo highlighted challenges in the health and education sectors, particularly in hard-to-reach areas of Sironko.
“If all these issues are addressed, I will be grateful as a leader to see the lives of our people improve,” she stated.
Finally, she urged the people of Sironko to love one another, work together, fear the Almighty God, and unite for the development of Sironko.
