In a resounding vote of confidence, Mafabi Asha Nabulo has been officially nominated unopposed as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for Woman Member of Parliament representing Sironko District. This marks a significant milestone in her political journey, reaffirming the people’s trust in her leadership, consistency, and unwavering commitment to service.
Asha, who previously held the NRM flag from 2021-2025, credited the people for this moment. “This victory isn’t mine alone,” she said with humility. “It belongs to the people of Sironko. Their belief in continued service, honest leadership, and empowerment has made this possible.
”But behind Asha’s success lies a deep-rooted family legacy. The concept of servant leadership that defines her style wasn’t born in a vacuum. It was shaped, lived, and taught by her father, Mr. Mafabi SulaimanLumolo, the long-serving interim chairman of Sironko District for over twenty years. Chairman Mafabi was recently re-elected with near-unanimous support, a testament to the enduring trust he commands.
“When one has served and the community trusts you,” Asha said, “they will automatically second you. They will front you without hesitation. I learned this from watching my father.
”That foundation of integrity and service inspired Asha to proudly carry the NRM flag from 2021-2025, and now, once again. Her unopposed nomination speaks volumes, not just about her personal work, but about what it means to truly stand for NRM principles.
“This is what true leadership under NRM means,” Asha emphasized. “Stand out in your communities. Serve your people with all your heart. That’s what the Movement has always stood for putting self aside for the betterment of others.
”She also thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for setting the national example of selfless leadership. “His Excellency has always shown us what it means to love your country above all else,” she noted. “That example continues to guide many of us.
”From donors and funders to mentors and the masses, Asha extended her gratitude to all who have supported her journey. “There were moments I felt overwhelmed,” she admitted. “But those who walked with me like my mentors, supporters, and friends reminded me to keep going. And because of them, I did.
“Her final words were as grounded as ever: “I’m just a reflection of the love the people have shown me. That love is what made me unopposed.”
