The Mbale University of Technology today unveiled its ambitious vision to revolutionize the region through cutting-edge science, innovation, and creativity.

The university’s leadership delivered a compelling speech at a conference, outlining its mission to equip the youth with the skills necessary to drive job creation, economic sustainability, and technological advancement.
The university’s vision, “A World Class of Science, Innovation, and Creativity,” is a clarion call to action, underscoring its commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

By focusing on science, technology, and ICT skills, the institution aims to empower the next generation of leaders to tackle the complex challenges facing the region.

Prof. John Muyonga, who is a renowned academic and researcher, made significant contributions to the fields of agriculture, food science, and technology.
While at the conference, he emphasized the importance of visioning a regional university of technology that drives innovation and community development.
He stressed the need for more players in academics, knowledge, and the application of technology to drive innovation and progress.
He also highlighted the critical importance of interconnection between science, technology, and innovation in addressing community needs and challenges.
And finalized by emphasizing that education becomes a critical catalyst in transitioning to levels where the community can benefit from technological advancements.

Dr. Paul Mwambu, Prime Minister of the Bamasaba Cultural Institution, delivered a stirring speech at the proposed Mbale University of Technology conference, emphasizing the importance of togetherness and unity in driving economic growth and development.
He highlighted the long-overdue vision for economic growth, job creation, access to education, tourism support, social equity, and cultural preservation. He urged all present and absent individuals to foster this initiative for the betterment of the Bamasaba people.
“Today, we gather to shape the future of our region. We must work together to unlock our potential and create opportunities for growth and development,” Dr. Mwambu said.
He called for unity among the Bamasaba, emphasizing that collective efforts will drive the progress and success of the university.

John Wanda, who is a passionate advocate for education and community development, has been instrumental in promoting initiatives that support the growth and development of communities in Uganda.He emphasized the importance of community engagement and collaboration in higher learning.
He also described the university as a group with similar interests working together for higher learning, engaging students and researchers in serving the community.
He highlighted the importance of excellence, relevance, and the idea of civic universities, calling for the mainstreaming of these concepts.
Wanda emphasized the need for universities to engage with their communities, citing the example of Harrington Academy of Uganda, which is making a positive impact in Bududa.

Hon.MP Musira stressed the need to preserve and promote African culture, citing the rich history and traditions of the continent.
He also highlighted the importance of innovative education that incorporates African values and perspectives, preparing students for the challenges of the modern world.

Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties, David Mafabi, who has been instrumental in promoting development initiatives and providing strategic guidance on key national projects, also made his remarks.
While at the conference,he emphasized the importance of doubling efforts in driving economic growth and development.
Mafabi highlighted the need for strategic planning, effective implementation, and collective responsibility in achieving the vision for the proposed university.
He cited Busoga University as a live example of innovation and entrepreneurship, underscoring the potential for local industries to drive economic transformation.

Hon. Minister Nambozo Florence, State Minister for Karamoja Affairs and Woman Member of Parliament for Sironko District, delivered an inspiring speech as the Guest of Honor at the Proposed Mbale University of Technology conference.
She stressed the importance of togetherness and unity, urging the community to work together towards a common goal.
She also expressed gratitude to the committee for their efforts in organizing the conference and promoting the proposed university by Citing Makerere University Business School (MUBS) as an example,
Minister Nambozo encouraged the committee to start small and grow big, focusing on practical and achievable goals.
She went ahead and highlighted the importance of development and progress, appreciating individuals like Mr. Wanda, who has brought development to the region through initiatives like Harrington Academy in Bududa.
She therefore concluded with fundraising through T-shirts to raise some starting funds that may help the committee in running the proposed university activities
