Uganda’s Parliament speaker’s sanction was planned long time by the Uk opportunists Ugandans should say No to this imperial games.
My position on the ongoing saga is that Uganda is a sovereign country and should be allowed to handle her internal matters using internal systems. We have a functional parliament,a vibrant judiciary and a strong executive with substantial good will to deal with any matter.
For effective international cooperation, our western partners need to explore cordial mechanisms that promote coexistence among independent States rather than measures that sound more punitive with total disregard to the principles of Fair hearing.
If for them human wrongs define their culture are seen as human rights in Africa we see them as total human wrongs and we stand firm for our cultures.
Ugandan is member of the Inter-Parliamentary union and part of the Commonwealth Parliamentary association, I believe these institutions are put in place to address any internal contradictions before it escalates to levels that undermine the essence of international cooperation as is already tending to be seen. I believe that the sanctions were both hurried and executed emotionally but not all is lost, on what grounds did they make a conclusion that the Speaker wss guilty on the Mabati saga and deserved sanctions?.
Through our Diplomatic fronts, both governments need to urgently consider dialoguing on these matters in more reasonable terms. Uganda and great Britain have come a Long way and we can not have our gains watered down just because we have not had a chance to internalize our issues more robustly.
Uganda is not a colony for Uk unless their is a hidden agenda, its high time for uganda to put sanctions on Uk ofgiviaks and even close its embassy here, the only support it gives us is Family planning kits, Arvs, condoms and conception which have side effects on our lives they in turn take our valuable minerals, rights and freedom, nothing comes from UK to uganda without strings attached.
An attack on the speaker is a direct attack on parliament and by extension and attack on uganda’s sovereignty its high time for uganda and africa as a whole to copy from western africa countries which have stood firm and ordered the French to stay away from their countries, our history shows us that we have suffered lossesin the expenseof these whites who continuously discriminates us and this has to end.
